Shiny Nails Croydon is a town-centre nail salon with one simple ambition: to be Croydon's most-loved nail salon. Every salon says it cares. We would rather show you what that means in practice. Our mission has four parts, and each one shapes how an appointment actually runs:
- Nails you feel proud of. We want you to catch sight of your hands on the bus home and smile.
- Honest advice. If a shape, length or product will not suit your lifestyle, we will say so kindly, and suggest something that will.
- Healthy-nail techniques. Beautiful nails should not cost you your natural ones.
- Easy booking. Getting an appointment should take a minute, not a morning of phone calls.
The four values behind every appointment
Listen first
Every treatment starts with a conversation. Before anything is filed or painted, your technician talks through shape, length and colour with you. Bring a photo, describe a mood, or simply tell us what you do for a living and how much maintenance you want. A nurse, a gym regular and someone with a wedding coming up may all want very different nails, and the consultation is where we work that out together.
Craft and detail
The difference between a good set and a great one is usually in the small things: clean cuticle lines, an even apex, a symmetrical shape across all ten nails, a French tip that sits at the same height on every finger. Our technicians take the time to get those details right, because they are what make a set look polished for weeks rather than days.
Healthy nails
We use gentle prep and professional removal, and we never peel or prise product off. Peeling takes layers of your natural nail with it, which is why so many people believe gel or acrylic "ruins" nails. Done properly, it does not have to. If you are trying to grow your own nails stronger, ask about our BIAB and SNS treatments, which we think of as our healthy-care range.
Respect for your time
We give honest timings before we start, so you can plan your lunch break or school run. Two of our four technicians can work on your hands and feet at the same time, which is a real time-saver if you want a manicure and pedicure together.
Our promise to you
Values are only useful if you can hold us to them. So here is our promise, in plain words:
- Clean, sterilised tools. Tools are cleaned and sterilised between clients, every time. We are licensed by Croydon Council under a special treatment licence. You can read more in our hygiene promise.
- Transparent prices before we start. Your technician confirms the price before any work begins, so there are no surprises at the till. Prices can vary with length and design, and our full list is always on the prices page.
- If something isn't right, we will put it right. If a nail lifts unexpectedly or a detail is not what we agreed, get in touch and we will sort it.
What we offer
We keep our menu focused on what we do well: polish and gel manicures, BIAB and SNS, acrylic and colour powder extensions, ombré and glitter tips, spa pedicures, acrylic toes and a range of nail art extras, from chrome and gems to hand-painted designs and encapsulated flowers. We also offer manicures and pedicures for men. Prices start at £10 for a polish colour on natural nails, and you will find every treatment and add-on listed clearly, so you can work out your budget before you arrive.
Finding us and booking
You will find us at 4 Norfolk House, Wellesley Road, Croydon CR0 1LH, right next to the Wellesley Road tram stop and a short walk from both East Croydon and West Croydon stations. We are open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 7pm and Sunday from 11am to 5pm. A few practical points:
