SNS Dip Powder Nails in Croydon: Prices and Infills

SNS dip powder gives strong, glossy nails without extensions. Here’s how SNS works at our Croydon salon, what treatments and infills cost and how to make it last.

SNS dip powder is a quiet favourite among people who want strong, glossy nails that feel light and look natural. It is especially popular with anyone whose nails tend to bend or split, but who doesn’t want the length or thickness of a full extension set. If you are looking for SNS nails in Croydon, this guide explains how the treatment works at Shiny Nails Croydon, what it costs to start, why there are two different infill prices, and how to keep your nails looking good for three to four weeks.

What SNS dip powder is

SNS is a powder system. Instead of brushing on coloured gel, your technician applies a bonding base to each nail and then a fine coloured powder over it, repeating the process to build up a thin, even layer. An activator sets the powder, and the nails are then shaped, smoothed and sealed with a glossy top coat.

The result is a hard, protective coating with a lovely depth of colour. It works on your natural length, or it can be applied over extensions for £5 extra. Our article on what SNS dip powder is covers the basics in more depth.

What happens at an SNS appointment

What happens at an SNS treatment:

  1. Consultation. Your technician checks your nails and talks through colour, shape and length.
  2. Removal. Any existing product is taken off first (£10–£15 depending on what you are wearing).
  3. Prep. Nails are shaped, cuticles gently pushed back, and the surface lightly buffed and cleansed.
  4. Layering the powder. Base and powder are applied in layers until the nail has an even, protective coating.
  5. Setting and shaping. The activator goes on, then each nail is filed and buffed to a smooth, balanced shape.
  6. Finish. A top coat seals in the shine, followed by cuticle oil.

SNS prices: treatment, infills and colour changes

TreatmentPrice
SNS treatment£35
SNS infill, same colour£30
SNS redone in a new colour£40
SNS with extensions+£5
Take off£10–£15

Why the two infill prices? When you keep the same colour, your technician can file back the existing powder, fill the regrowth area and refresh the surface, blending new with old. Switching to a new colour means more of the previous colour has to be removed so it doesn’t show through, and the full colour is rebuilt, which takes more work. If you love your shade, sticking with it is the more economical choice.

French tips, chrome, nail art and gems can be added to SNS; see our BIAB and SNS services for the full menu. Prices may vary with length and design, and your technician confirms the total before starting.

SNS or BIAB?

Both are part of our “healthy care” range, both work on natural nails, and both start at £35. The differences are mostly about feel and finish:

  • SNS is built from powder layers, giving a firm, hard-wearing coating and a rich, even colour.
  • BIAB is a builder gel, which feels slightly more flexible and is popular for sheer, natural-looking finishes.
  • Both typically last three to four weeks before an infill is due.

If you can’t decide, ask your technician at your appointment; they can look at your nails and suggest what is likely to suit them. Our SNS vs BIAB comparison also lays out the pros and cons side by side.

How long SNS lasts, and caring for it

SNS typically lasts three to four weeks, after which regrowth at the cuticle becomes noticeable and the balance of the nail starts to shift. To get the most from every set:

  • Apply cuticle oil daily to keep nails and skin supple.
  • Wear gloves when cleaning or washing up.
  • Avoid using your nails to open, scrape or prise things.
  • If a nail chips or lifts, don’t pick at it; book in for a fix.
  • Never peel SNS off. Book a professional take off so your natural nails are not damaged underneath.

If your nails or the skin around them become sore, red, itchy or discoloured, stop wearing nail products and ask a pharmacist or your GP for advice.
