Pedicures in Croydon: Spa, Gel and Men’s Pedicures

From a quick coat of toe colour to a full spa pedicure with gel, here’s what each pedicure in Croydon includes, what it costs and how to keep feet feeling good.

Feet do a lot of quiet work, and most of us only notice them when sandal season arrives or a pair of boots starts to rub. A good pedicure is part treat, part maintenance: hard skin is softened, nails are tidied, and you walk out feeling noticeably lighter on your feet. If you are looking for a pedicure in Croydon, this guide explains exactly what is included at Shiny Nails Croydon, how the options differ, what they cost and a few things to check before you book.

What happens in a spa pedicure

Our spa pedicure follows a set routine designed to leave feet soft, neat and relaxed:

  1. Warm soak. Your feet soak in warm water to soften skin and nails and help you unwind.
  2. Exfoliation. A scrub buffs away dry, dull skin.
  3. Hard-skin care. Areas of rough or hardened skin on heels and the balls of the feet are gently smoothed.
  4. Nail and cuticle care. Toenails are trimmed and shaped and cuticles tidied.
  5. Massage. A relaxing massage to finish the treatment part of the pedicure.
  6. Polish. Your chosen colour goes on to complete the look.

Choosing the right pedicure

Spa pedicure – £30

The full routine above, finished with regular polish. Ideal if you change colour often or want a regular foot-care treat.

Spa pedicure with gel – £38

The same treatment finished with gel colour instead of polish. You leave the salon fully dry, so you can slip straight back into shoes. Gel on toes tends to stay looking fresh for a good while because toenails grow slowly, which makes this a favourite before holidays.

Men’s pedicure – £28

A pedicure designed for men who want clean, comfortable, tidy feet without the polish. Your technician will talk you through what is included before starting. Many men book one before a holiday or after a long stretch in heavy work boots, and our guide to pedicures for men answers the usual questions.

Just colour, or acrylic toes

If your feet are in good shape and you simply want colour, natural toes colour is £15 and gel toes colour is £25. Acrylic toes are also available, and if only your big toes need help, two big toes are £10.

Before you book: when to see a podiatrist first

A pedicure is a beauty treatment, not a medical one, and we don’t offer medical pedicures or chiropody. If you have corns, verrucas, ingrown toenails, signs of a fungal nail infection, or diabetes, please see a podiatrist or your GP before booking a pedicure. They can advise whether a salon pedicure is suitable for you.

The same applies if you have any broken skin, cuts, pain, swelling or an infection on your feet: get it checked by a pharmacist or GP and book your pedicure once it has healed. A couple of simple tips for the day itself: avoid shaving your legs just before your appointment, and bring open-toed shoes or sliders if you are having regular polish so it can dry without smudging.

Aftercare, and how often to book

Keep the results going with a rich foot cream every evening, especially on the heels, and wear breathable socks and well-fitting shoes. Avoid picking at hard skin between visits; it tends to come back thicker. A pedicure every month or so keeps hard skin under control and nails neat, though many people book more often in summer. Our pedicure aftercare guide has more ideas.
